Givan opens new £4.4 million extension at Parkhall Integrated College

Education Minister, Paul Givan has officially opened a new state of the art extension for sixth form provision at Parkhall Integrated College.
The project comprises of a new library and 10 specialist classrooms including Science, Home Economics, Media, Business Information Systems, Art and Design and English, along with support accommodation and additional parking. The extension will accommodate approximately 130 pupils.
Speaking at the official opening, the Minister said:
“This is a great day for pupils and staff at Parkhall Integrated College. The investment of over £4.4 million will enhance the educational experience for everyone involved at the school and future generations.
“The opening of any new school building is something to be celebrated and improving the schools’ estate remains a key priority for me. I will continue to make the case for additional funds to ensure that this important area of work gets the attention it deserves.”
The £4.4 million project was funded through the Fresh Start Programme supported by the United Kingdom Government.
The Minister continued:
“I would like to commend staff, pupils and parents for their perseverance and patience over the last number of years as the project team has taken the work through from design to planning and construction.
“I am confident these new, modern facilities will match the school’s collective enthusiasm and passion for learning and teaching and help Parkhall advance further on its education journey.”
Construction on the site began in April 2023 and was completed in August 2024.
