Under Section 49B of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 the Department of Education is required to submit a Disability Action Plan to the Equality Commission showing how it proposes to fulfil its statutory duties to:
- promote positive attitudes towards people with disabilities
- encourage participation by people with disabilities in public life
