Education Minister, Peter Weir, has viewed construction work on a £3.9million project during a visit to Millington Primary School in Portadown.

Provided under the School Enhancement Programme, work is due to complete in the near future and will provide a 12 classroom extension.

Speaking following the visit, the Minister said:

“I welcome the opportunity to visit Millington Primary School today and enjoyed touring the school and seeing the results of the £3.9million investment. I understand this new extension will address the immediate and pressing accommodation needs of the school. I hope the pupils and staff at Millington Primary enjoy their new and improved environment which will positively impact for many years to come.

“The best part of my job as Education Minister is visiting schools and having the opportunity to meet with those connected to that school. Each visit is unique and I especially enjoy hearing the many varied and interesting stories along the way.

“I wish everyone connected with Millington Primary School the very best for the future and thank everyone connected with the school for hosting my visit today.”
