Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Awards
The Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Award was created in partnership with the Public Health Agency.
The annual Award, made in the four categories of pre-school, primary, post primary and special, are for school communities that have demonstrated exceptional pastoral care in supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of pupils.
The aim of the awards are the acknowledgement and celebration of schools that exceed normal expectations in supporting some element of the personal, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of a child or young person.
On Monday 22 April 2024, Paul Givan MLA, Minister of Education and Dr Joanne McClean, Director of the PHA presented Awards to St Columba’s Primary School, Draperstown; Belfast Boys’ Model School, Belfast and Knockevin Special School, Castlewellan in recognition of their exceptional pastoral care of pupils.
The next annual Award will cover the period September 2023 – June 2024.
Nominations can be submitted from Monday 4 November until Friday 13 December 2024 using the online application below.
Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Award 2025 - NI Direct - Citizen Space
Nominations will be assessed by an independent judging panel. It is important to note that the panel will only assess the information supplied in each nomination, not the number of nominations a school receives. All nominations are anonymised before assessing.
