The Department of Education has launched a public appointments competition to appoint a Chairperson and Members to the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
Announcing the competition, Education Minister Paul Givan said:
“The CCEA Chairperson plays an important role in ensuring CCEA’s procedures and actions support my Department’s wider strategic priorities in relation to the curriculum and qualifications.
“The successful appointee requires strong leadership, an ability to make informed strategic decisions and a capacity to influence a diverse stakeholder base to deliver positive learning outcomes for all our children and young people.”
CCEA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education. It is responsible for keeping under review all aspects of the curriculum, examinations and assessment for schools including developing, conducting and moderating qualifications and assessments.
The Minister continued:
“CCEA Board Members play a vital role in supporting the Chairperson and the posts require a strong ability to support strategic decision making, work well with others, and uphold good governance within the organisation.
“I would encourage anyone who has an interest in public service and wants to make a positive difference for children and young people in our society to apply for these roles”.
